#NEW Travel and Food Segment

It's all about the experience economy.

With every opportunity I have gotten, I have sought out opportunities to travel. I have always been a lover of change and experiencing new and different things. Being a child of immigrant parents, I became easily accustomed to new surroundings. Going to new schools, settling in new cities, and exploring the unknown was something I was exposed to from a very young age. I feel this partly feeds into my love for travel and exploration. From living in Paris for a month to visiting the bustling streets of Tokyo, I have had the utmost privilege and opportunity to visit some amazing places on this earth. I hope that this travel and food section inspires you to try something new and different.

But travel means absolutely nothing without food. In my opinion, food teaches us a lot about the local culture, art, and history. It inspires us to think differently about how we consume. It exposes us to a new level of appreciation when we consume ingredients that are sourced and made locally. Food is at the heart of any experience. Whether that is trying new flavours or coming together with people to build that sense of community and belonging, food makes travelling feel like home.

With everything that I create for Ensemble, I want to centralise the issues of climate change. I fully acknowledge the impact of international travel on the environment. I hope to start conversations around travel and sustainability, to identify ways in which we can promote sustainability wherever we travel. There are many pros and cons to travelling with regards to sustainability but one thing is certain - travelling has taught me a lot. Witnessing new places and cultures, and learning about how people live across the world have developed my sense of self-awareness and compassion towards the earth. I have found myself to be more grateful and appreciative of what this world has to offer, both locally and globally. And, I hope to spark more conversations that critique our choices. If anything, the pandemic taught us to view our own homes differently and to see the best in where we live. With Ensemble, you can expect content that draws inspiration from both local (which is the UK for me) and global. The glitz and glam of travelling can be very alluring, but let's all be mindful. Let's enjoy what this earth has to offer, all whilst respecting the environment.
