Favourite Holiday Destination: Switzerland

📚 My Top 3 Books:

  1. How to be Perfect: The Correct Answer to Every Moral Question by Michael Schur #nonfiction. Written by comedic genius, you may have seen many of his works, including popular TV series: The Office USA, Parks and Recreation and The Good Place. This book makes philosophy easily digestible and bearable to read. Schur's comedic style of writing and the hyperbolic title is a sneak peek into the light-hearted approach to life's all

  2. -important questions.

  3. Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney #fiction. The New Yorker reviews this book as a 'private performance'. That's the perfect depiction of how you feel as the reader as you are invited into private conversations between friends and lovers.

  4. Road Less Travelled by M. Scott Peck #nonfiction. A great book on self-development written by a renowned psychologist. One I know I will read and reread for years to come. From managing relationships to developing discipline, the 'advice' in this book was well-versed. Unlike other self-help books, the insights offered weren't obvious or predictable.

✍🏽 Essay: The Old Man by Roger Angell Featured in the New Yorker, this is a life-affirming essay written by a 93-year-old essayist. Exploring relationships and dealing with grief, Angell imparts his wisdom and heartwarming outlook on life. 🧘🏽‍♀️ Mindful Activity: Meditation I have recently subscribed to the Headspace app for guided meditation, mindful workouts, soundscapes etc. For someone who has been struggling with poor sleep and late-night anxieties, this subscription has been the best thing I have spent my money on this year. 📺 Film: The Rainmaker (1997) Featuring Matt Damon and Danny DeVito, this film is loosely based on a real-life story. Rudy (played by Damon), a charming yet inexperienced law school graduate, agrees to fight for a boy suffering from leukaemia after the insurance company refuses to pay for his life-saving operation. An exposé of the corrupt medical insurance system in the US. 📱App: Matter For reading essays, online articles and/or Twitter threads, where you can save what you see to read later. Has some fantastic tools such as text-to-speech, tagging systems, and easy-to-highlight notes. I posted a blog on more of my favourite productivity apps, read here. ✈️ Holiday Destination: Switzerland Spent my birthday weekend in Switzerland this year, and I must say it was one of those memorable holidays that I will fondly reminisce about for a long time. I am currently in the middle of editing that Switzerland vlog. Make sure you subscribe to Ensemble Magazine's Youtube channel to be notified when it's out. 🍲 Food: Onion soup Authentic Parisian onion soups are something I dream about a lot. Watch my 'Living in Paris' series for all the Parisian and wannabe Emily-in-Paris energy. 📜 Magazine: Ensemble's 2022 Autumn Issue Ok, ok a big ol' plug here. But if you haven't already, do check out Ensemble's recent issue, where I talk about 90s fashion, achieving happiness and book heaven. Read here.
